Authentication in Milliseconds

Cross-Device Compatibility
Build Trust with Biometrics
The customer's face is scanned during authentication, creating its 3D map. In milliseconds this data is then compared to already stored biometric data from previous biometric identification, checking for spoofing methods and other alterations. Quickly telling if the returning user is genuine and keeping accuracy of 1 in 12,800,000 at less than 1% FRR.
How does it work?
1. Biometric Data Capture
During onboarding, the customer’s biometric data is scanned to create a secure 3D facial map. This data is then encrypted and stored safely.
2. Face Authentication
When authenticating, the user scans their face again. The system compares the new scan with the stored 3D map to verify the match.
3. Identity Confirmation
If the match is successful, the user’s identity is confirmed, and authentication is complete.

FAQ
Biometric authentication verifies a user’s identity based on unique physical characteristics — such as facial features. In Ondato’s case, it allows returning users to log in or confirm sensitive actions by scanning their face. The system compares the live scan to an encrypted facial template created during onboarding, ensuring the same verified person is accessing the account.
Once a user completes initial KYC and a 3D facial template is securely stored, future logins or sensitive actions only require a live face scan. The system performs a liveness and anti-spoofing check, then compares it to the stored template. If the match passes your set threshold, access is granted instantly — no passwords or manual checks.
Identity verification (IDV) is performed during onboarding to confirm who the user is and to create a biometric template. Biometric authentication happens later, each time the verified person accesses their account. It’s used for returning-user verification, not for onboarding. This ensures frictionless, passwordless, and secure access without repeating KYC.
Yes. Ondato’s biometric authentication is GDPR-compliant and built with privacy by design. Facial templates are encrypted, access-controlled, and stored securely according to your data retention policies. We also support ISO-compliant PAD (Presentation Attack Detection) and audit logs for full regulatory traceability.
Ondato uses a combination of passive and active liveness detection with Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) technology. This ensures the face being scanned is real and live — not a photo, mask, or deepfake video. Our AI models continuously evolve to identify and block fraudulent attempts in real time.
Users can authenticate through fallback methods such as e-signature or SMS signature. These serve as step-up or recovery options if a camera issue, lighting condition, or device limitation prevents a successful face match. This ensures secure access for all users without friction.
